Note to self: Don’t take #GRE practice tests at 4 a.m.

I didn’t notice that the test was supposed actually be full length which is FOUR hours.

I kept falling asleep, especially during the quantative section.

I did well on the verbal.

Next test should be at decent hours. LOL

10 Tips on How to Balance Your Family Life

10 Tips on How to Balance Your Family Life

I received a Dear Organic Melinda email from a mom who wanted advice on how to balance work, school and family life. You can read my response to her by clicking here.

In order to assist exhausted mommies (and daddies), I put together this list of 10 tips  that describe some of the ways that I have tried to achieve balance as a work-from-home mother.

1.       Stop trying to do it ALL.

Many of us…

Some days, I feel so paralyzed by this #pain. My #joints #ache, my #muscles begin to fade.

I went from working out 6 days a week, twice a day (sometimes), to waking up feeling #crippled.

Basic tasks have become so much harder to complete. My anxiety so much harder to control.

But, one day at a time, my #body #heals. And, I am getting ready to #rehab my way back into #fitness.

Tell me, what have your struggles been? How do yo get back up when you fall?

How to Stop Seasonal Depression Before It Starts

How to Stop Seasonal Depression Before It Starts

As the first day of Autumn ends, we say goodbye to the warm weather and the long days. In the East Coast, the weather is chilling very quickly, and the fleece is coming out to cover us.  With the shorter days and our covered skin, we are exposed to less Vitamin D, less outdoor fun, and less physical activity.  This rapid shift in our behavior coupled with cold winds has an impact on many of us,…

Why You Can’t Just Snap Out of Depression

Why You Can’t Just Snap Out of Depression

When I was 12 years old, my maternal grandfather committed suicide.

By that age, I had already struggled with anorexia and severe feelings of self-loathing.  At 16, my depressive cycles were just my depressed years.  I even once had a best friend break up with me, because she said I wallowed in too much self-pity.  I did not believe I had a problem.

Maybe, I was in denial. Maybe, I didn’t want my…

Here are some products that I am trying this week as I get back on my meal plan and working out after a knee re-injury and battle with the Chikungunya Virus.

I gained 9 lbs over a month and a half and lost a lot of my muscle definition. I am post-poning my NPC competition until further notice. Right now, I am still healing as my joints still hurt. I went back to the gym yesterday and my lung capacity is not what it used to be. The virus keeps me very fatigued. Now, I honestly ate a bunch of crap while I was sick because it was hard to even move. Now, I am working on getting my meal plan back in order and slowly getting back on my 6-day a week training routine.

There will be bumps on the road to personal success. It’s okay to get off path. Just get back on.

Your mental, emotional, spiritual and physical health are more important than any external success.

One day at a time, I will compete in a #bikini competition.
